I could tell the pants hadn't come to our lives because of tragedy. They'd just witnessed those regular but painful life transitions. That, it turns out, is The Way of the Pants.

Lena, Tibby, Bridget and Carmen have been best friends all their lives, so when Tibby finds a pair of jeans in a thrift shop that fits all of them, it seems like fate. And magic. When the girls have to split up for the summer holidays they vow to keep in touch by sending the jeans to each other as needed - believing that the jeans will help them get through everything.

This book has it all: first love, illness, family ups and downs, travel and, best of all, friendship.

If you've ever been: young, giddy, optimistic, in love, a best friend then this very quirky and highly memorable book was written just for you.

This is book 1 in the Sisterhood series so you definitely need to try the rest! Books 1 and 2 were turned into movies and are well worth watching.
