"You know how sometimes, when you glance at something out of the corner of your eye, it looks different for a moment?"
A great little graphic novel, with neat graphics. Rue Silver, a typical teen, finds herself seeing into another world while dealing with the death of her mother. She uncovers some startling truths and learns about her own identity.
Part fantasty, part reality, I enjoyed this graphic novel because it deals with the universal themes of personal identity, family relations and metaphorical 'skeletons in the closet'/things your parent's don't tell you - themes that all teens can relate too. It's also interesting to see the realms of faeries in a less-than-pink-fluffies way.
