Pakuranga Library refurbishments

22/04/2010

As part of Manukau City Council’s maintenance programme Pakuranga Library is being redecorated. The library will close from Saturday, 1 May for nine days to allow for reorganisation of shelving, painting and laying of new carpet.

Community Librarian at Pakuranga Stephanie McKenzie is excited about the refurbishment.  “I’m sure our customers will enjoy the new interior which has a sailing, water theme to reflect Pakuranga’s close proximity to the sea.

New layout and furniture will give the library a more relaxed atmosphere to encourage visitors to stay a while.

“While we apologise for the inconvenience the closure may cause to our customers, we can’t wait to share the new brighter library with them.”

Customers are encouraged to use nearby Howick or Botany libraries while the work is carried out.

The new look, more user-friendly library re-opens 9am on Monday, 10 May.
