This year, Manukau Libraries celebrates the Vaisakhi Festival with the community for the first time.

Vaisakhi Festival, also known as Baisakhi,  is an ancient harvest festival popular in the Punjab region of India, which also marks the beginning of a new solar year.

This year, Manukau Libraries are very honoured to work with AI Education and Community Trust to share the excitement with everyone:

  • Stories about Vaisakhi
  • Interesting quizzes and colouring competitions for the kids
  • Gidda and Bhangra dancing performances
  • Traditional, beautiful Punjabi Art form offered by professionals

Come along and share this great opportunity to get to know the Punjabi culture, and to explore the Punjabi/Indian collections held by Manukau Libraries.
