Afrikaans language books available at Manukau Libraries

29/04/2010

Manukau Libraries now have a small collection of books in the Afrikaans language.

Aimed at meeting the needs of their growing number of Afrikaans customers, the collection consists of children’s and adult fiction and a number of non-fiction titles, including delicious South African cuisine recipe books.

The collection will be housed at Botany Library, but customers can request titles from all over the city.  Botany and Highland Park libraries also have the very popular South African magazine SARIE.

Community Library Manager at Highland Park Library, Mariëtte McClement says, “This collection will grow depending on demand from customers.  Suggestions for books we can purchase are also welcomed.”

To view the titles available, search for the call number “AFR” on the Library Catalogue - either at your local library or online at http://www.manukau-libraries.govt.nz
