The Māori Services team will provide specialist knowledge and advice to assist Māori in locating whakapapa and information on kauapapa Māori, support the community through promoting the range and use of Māori Services and events in libraries and enhance access to Māori collections.

I work at the South Auckland Research Centre My role involves the selection and purchasing of Māori resources for all our libraries, and providing specialist advice and information to members of the public based upon these resources. As the Māori Liaison Assistant – Māori Services at Tupu Youth Library, I look after the Māori Collection and awhi those who use it, both Māori and non-Māori. It is my responsibility to provide the best service possible and to maintain the mauri of our Māori resources and materials for the continued enjoyment of our tamariki and kuia and kaumatua.

As Māori Liasion Assistant at Mangere Town Centre Library I provide quality information and advice to customers regarding our Māori Collection. I also liaise with local kura and kōhanga both in and outside of the branch, in hopes to promote Māori literacy in our local community.
