SEEING THROUGH YOUR EYES (to a schizophrenic relative)

How does it feel to live in our world?
Is it like walking amongst a foreign field?
Wondering which path to take
And constantly figuring out what choices to make

At times I think how you manage day to day
Life's gifts that she offers you in every way
I see at times this sparkle of response in your eye
But then it quickly disappears, that makes me cry

I wish I could see through your eyes
And I would find all my answers to my whys
You're here with me as once before
As I lead the way and show you a new door
A place that you haven't seen for years
Where nothing can harm you, there are no fears
Just a smile, a hand to lead the way
Walking hand in hand with nothing left to say

Remember when life was good for you
And alone didn't exist, it was always two
But unknown forces stripped that away
And the best thing to do was just pray

Hopefully one day I wll meet you again
Where the world would have no pain
Because you've suffered so these years
And many times we have all shed our tears

One day you will look at me
Your eyes are much clearer and you'll see
That you have always been loved by us all
Till then I'll wait for your high fence to fall
