The bee sting
We were at Howick Beach
The tide was in with lots of people
The lady next to me was stung on the
Small of her thumb
She held it tightly with the other hand
Nipping it
Tears signalled the pain but no noise at all
Came from you
Eventually she let the red thumb go
I had talked seeking to take
Your mind off the thumb
But the poison had
Dissipated in your blood
Only a slight tingling remained
The tide began to turn
