Ephemera is published material of a transient or insubstantial nature.
Ephemera may include:

- Programmes
- Posters
- Sales catalogues
- Advertising fliers
- Invitations
- Orders of service
- Political campaign materialsP
- Postcards.
The Manukau Research Library collects ephemera of historical interest relating to the Manukau area. Some of the more substantial items such as heritage calendars are catalogued and listed in the Manukau Libraries catalogue.
