Requesting items.

To have an item put aside for you, place a request for it - either at the library, from home or even from work.

Step 1

  • Search the catalogue to find the item you need.
  • Place a request by clicking the Request button at the top or bottom of the page, or on the right of each item if it appears in a list.

Step 2

  • On your library card are some numbers below the barcode. Enter these numbers and your PIN.
  • If you don't know what your PIN is, phone or visit any of our libraries and ask a librarian.

Step 3

  • Indicate which library you would like to collect the item from e.g.,  Māngere East Library, Otara Library, Manurewa Library.
  • Indicate when you would like the request to expire if it cannot be filled. For example you may need the item prior to the 20th October 2011. You would then enter 20-10-11 for the expiry date of the request.

Step 4

  • Click the Go button and your request will be processed.
  • You will be notified by email if you have supplied your email address to Auckland Libraries. Alternatively you will receive notification by either post or phone.
