About housebound services

This service is free for Manukau residents and ratepayers who are permanently or temporarily housebound due to:

  • Illness
  • Disability
  • Age

Note:  In some circumstances, a medical certificate may be required.

Borrowing

Housebound customers can borrow up to 30 items at a time from a wide range of resources including:

  • Large print books
  • Fiction
  • Non-fiction books
  • Audio books.

These resources are issued for a maximum period of six weeks.

Delivery

Items can be:

  • Delivered
  • Collected by a friend / relative.

Our Mobile library service is available at over 50 stops across Manukau, including:

  • Retirement villages
  • Rest homes
  • Council flats. 

Check the timetable for a Mobile library stop close to you.

Items are issued for a maximum period of 6 weeks.
