Getting a library card is easy!
Get your Manukau Libraries card today.
Simply
join online or visit any branch of Manukau Libraries.
When picking up your Manukau Libraries card you will be asked to provide two forms of identification: one with your signature, and one with your current address.
Children and young adults (under 18) need a parent or guardian to act as a guarantor and sign for their card. In signing as guarantor, you are accepting responsibility for any charges incurred on that card.
Satisfactory identification includes:
- New Zealand drivers licence
- Student/work identification
- Passport
- Bank card
- Community Services Card
- Rates notice
- Tenancy/rent document
- Power or phone bill
- Bank statement
- Government correspondence (e.g. IRD, Work and Income).
Anyone can join
Joining Manukau Libraries is free for all residents and ratepayers of Manukau and:
- Businesses in Manukau may nominate one staff member to hold a library card
- Primary, intermediate and secondary students attending schools in Manukau may borrow from the library free of charge during the school year
- Tertiary students residing outside Manukau but enrolled at Manukau tertiary institutions may join the library for $50 per academic year.
People who are neither residents nor ratepayers of Manukau may join the library on payment of a subscription at the following rates:
