About the library

Located on the basement level of council's Civic Centre building; the Corporate Library provides for the business-related information needs of the staff and elected officials of Manukau City Council.

Most of the material held is technical in nature but is also available for public use if necessary.

The Corporate Library's holdings are listed on the Auckland Libraries' catalogue. Apart from reference material, books held by the Corporate Library are available on request to all users of Auckland Libraries.

The collection

The books, journals and databases largely relate to the activities of local government, these include the following collections::

Environment and town planning collection

A selection of district plans, reports and studies published by the:

• Department of Conservation
• The Ministry for the Environment
• Local government agencies in New Zealand.

Law

A complete set of current statutes and regulations are held in both hardcopy and electronic form, as are a range of caselaw reporting series such as:

• New Zealand Administrative Reports
• Resource Management Appeals
• New Zealand Law Reports
• A range of monographs dealing in particular with local government law, environmental law, and employment law. 

Management

• Management theories
• Human resource management
• Pay systems
• Job evaluation
• Team management are among the specialist subject areas covered.

Standards

• New Zealand standards
• Australian
• British standards are held.

These are all reference material and not available for loan.
